Account Deletion & Data Retention

This page explains how to delete your Tooty: The Social Fart Map account, what data is removed, and what limited information we may retain. Tooty: The Social Fart Map is published by the Tooty: The Social Fart Map team. You can reach us anytime at hello@tootyapp.com.

How to Delete Your Account

In-app (recommended)

  1. Open the Tooty: The Social Fart Map app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile β†’ Settings β†’ Delete Account.
  3. Confirm your password if prompted, then choose Permanently Delete Account.

If you cannot access the app

Email hello@tootyapp.com from the address linked to your account with the subject line "Delete my Tooty: The Social Fart Map account". We may ask for additional verification to protect your account.

Processing time

Deletion requests start immediately and typically complete within a few minutes. Some background clean-up jobs can take up to 30 days to finish.

Data Removed During Deletion

  • Your authentication account (Firebase user record).
  • Profile details such as username, email, avatar, and preferences.
  • Map posts (β€œpins”), including any attached media and their comments, likes, or dislikes.
  • Comments, reactions, friend relationships, and notifications associated with your account.
  • XP logs, league participation metadata, and premium plan markers tied to your user ID.

Data We May Retain

We keep only the minimum information necessary after deletion:

  • Audit, security, and anti-fraud logs for up to 180 days.
  • Backup snapshots for up to 30 days, after which they are automatically purged.
  • App store purchase receipts are processed by Google Play / App Store and may be retained under their own policies.
  • Content created by other users remains intact; any references to your deleted account will be anonymized or cleaned up in subsequent maintenance tasks.

Your Privacy Rights

You can request access to, or deletion of, your personal data at any time using the methods above. For GDPR, CCPA, or other regional privacy requests, please include the email address linked to your account and your country/region when contacting us.

All data in transit is encrypted. We verify account ownership before fulfilling deletion requests.
