Account Deletion & Data Retention

This page explains how to delete your Tooty: The Social Fart Map account, what data is removed, and what limited information we may retain. Tooty: The Social Fart Map is published by the Tooty: The Social Fart Map team. You can reach us anytime at hello@tootyapp.com.

How to Delete Your Account

In-app (recommended)

Open the Tooty: The Social Fart Map app and sign in.
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
Confirm your password if prompted, then choose Permanently Delete Account.

If you cannot access the app

Email hello@tootyapp.com from the address linked to your account with the subject line "Delete my Tooty: The Social Fart Map account". We may ask for additional verification to protect your account.

Account deletion is intended to permanently close your account and remove personal data tied to it from active systems; it is not just a temporary deactivation.

Processing time

Deletion requests start immediately. Most active-system data is removed shortly after confirmation; some background clean-up and backup propagation can take up to 90 days.

Data Removed During Deletion

Your authentication account (Firebase user record).
Profile details such as username, email, avatar, and preferences.
Map posts (“pins”), including any attached media and their comments, likes, or dislikes.
Comments, reactions, friend relationships, and notifications associated with your account.
XP logs, league participation metadata, and premium plan markers tied to your user ID.

Data We May Retain

We keep only the minimum information necessary after deletion:

Limited audit, security, and anti-fraud records where needed to protect users and the service.
Rolling backup and disaster-recovery copies for up to 90 days, after which they are overwritten or purged.
App store purchase receipts are processed by Google Play / App Store and may be retained under their own policies.
Data we must retain to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or establish/exercise/defend legal claims.
Content created by other users remains intact; any references to your deleted account are anonymized or cleaned up where technically feasible.

Your Privacy Rights

You can request access to, or deletion of, your personal data at any time using the methods above. For GDPR, CCPA, or other regional privacy requests, please include the email address linked to your account and your country/region when contacting us.

All data in transit is encrypted. We verify account ownership before fulfilling deletion requests.
